HP Pavilion 10 TouchSmart:  DISASSEMBLING PROCEDURE 
How to remove Battery
Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
To remove the battery:
1. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.
2. Slide the battery lock latch to release the battery lock.
3. Slide the battery release latch to release the battery.
4. Slide the battery out and remove it from the computer.
How to remove Top cover
Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
Remove the top cover:
1. Position the computer upside-down with the front toward you.
2. Remove the following covers and screws that secure the top cover to the computer:
(1) 2 rubber screw covers from the corner caps
(2) 2 screws from the corner caps
(3) Both corner caps
3. Remove the following covers and screws that secure the top cover to the computer:
(1) 2 screws under removed corner caps
(2) 2 screws inside the battery bay
4. Remove 12 screws from the bottom of the computer.
5. Position the computer upright and open it as far as possible.
6. Pry the top cover off the computer to disengage it
7. Lift the top of the top cover and the lift the top cover up slightly to gain access to the connected keyboard and touchpad cables and connectors underneath.
8. Lift the keyboard cable connector disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
9. Lift the touchpad cable connector disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board, and then remove the top cover from the computer.
How to remove Touchpad
Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the following components:
Top cover
Remove the function board:
1. Position the top cover upside-down.
2. Remove the 2 Phillips screws  that secure the touchpad to the top cover.
3. Remove the touchpad from the top cover
4. Guide the cable through the opening in the top cover.
How to remove RTC battery
Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the following components:
a. Top cover
b. Power button board
c. Display assembly
d. Speaker assembly
e. Hard drive
f. System board
Remove the RTC battery:
1. Position the system board upside-down.
2. Use a thin screwdriver or similar tool to pry the battery out of the socket
3. Remove the battery from the socket
