To verify a symptom, follow the steps below:
1. Turn off the computer.

To check whether the battery charges properly during operation, use a discharged battery pack or a battery pack that has less than 50% of the total power remaining when installed in the computer.

Disassembling the laptop
Base cover
Remove the screws 1. Then remove the base cover 2.

Detach
IO board connector in the direction shown by arrows 1 and 2.
Unplug
the battery connector 3 and remove the screws 4. Then remove the battery pack
in the direction shown by arrow 5.
Hard disk drive
Remove
the frame fixing screws 1.
Remove
the hard disk drive in the direction shown by arrow 2
LCD unit
Remove
the screws 1. Detach LCD connector in the direction shown by arrow 2.
Open
the hinges 3, then remove the upper case from the LCD unit in the direction
shown by arrow 4.
