How
to remove the Battery
Before
disassembling the computer, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Remove the battery:
1. Position the computer upside-down on a flat surface, with the battery bay toward you.
2. Slide the battery release latch to release the battery.
3. Remove the battery from the computer.
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Remove the battery:
1. Position the computer upside-down on a flat surface, with the battery bay toward you.
2. Slide the battery release latch to release the battery.
3. Remove the battery from the computer.
How
to remove the Service cover
Before
removing the service cover, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
Remove the service cover:
1. Slide the release latch and remove the locking screw (if installed) .
2. Slide the release latch to disengage the door from the computer.
3. Slide the door toward the front of the computer , and then lift the door off the computer
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
Remove the service cover:
1. Slide the release latch and remove the locking screw (if installed) .
2. Slide the release latch to disengage the door from the computer.
3. Slide the door toward the front of the computer , and then lift the door off the computer

to remove the Optical drive
Before
removing the optical drive, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the optical drive:
1. Position the computer upside-down with the right side toward you.
2. Loosen the captive Phillips screw that secures the optical drive to the computer.
3. Use a flat-blade screw driver or similar tool to press on the optical drive bracket tab to release the optical drive.
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the optical drive:
1. Position the computer upside-down with the right side toward you.
2. Loosen the captive Phillips screw that secures the optical drive to the computer.
3. Use a flat-blade screw driver or similar tool to press on the optical drive bracket tab to release the optical drive.
4. Remove
the optical drive from the computer.
How
to remove the Hard drive
Before
removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover

the hard drive:
1. Loosen the three Phillips screws that secure the hard drive to the computer.
2. Use the hard drive tab to slide the hard drive to the right to disconnect it from the system board.
3. Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bay.

2. Use the hard drive tab to slide the hard drive to the right to disconnect it from the system board.
3. Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bay.
How
to remove the RTC battery
Before
removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the RTC battery:
1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board.
2. Detach the RTC battery from the base enclosure. (The RTC battery is attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape.)
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the RTC battery:
1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board.
2. Detach the RTC battery from the base enclosure. (The RTC battery is attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape.)

to remove the Bluetooth module
Before
removing the Bluetooth module, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the Bluetooth module:
1. Release the Bluetooth module from the clip built into the base enclosure.
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery
5. Remove the service cover
Remove the Bluetooth module:
1. Release the Bluetooth module from the clip built into the base enclosure.
2. Disconnect
the Bluetooth module cable from the Bluetooth module.
