Initializing AV SURROUND RECEIVER/AMPLIFIER
AV SURROUND RECEIVER/AMPLIFIER initialization should be performed when the µcom, peripheral parts of µcom, and Digital P.W.B. are replaced.
1. Switch off the unit.
2. With the "INPUTMODE" and "SPEAKERS" buttons pressed, press the "ON/OFF" button to turn the power on.
3. Check that the entire display is flashing with an interval of about 1 second, and release your fingers from the 2 buttons and the microprocessor will be initialized.

PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING ERRORS
Displaying the protection history

3. Clearing the protection history
There are two ways to clear the protection history, as described below.
(1) Start up the error (protection display) mode, display the error, then press and hold in the "ENTER" button for 3 seconds.

Warning indication by the STANDBY LED
If the power is turned off when a protection incident has been detected, the STANDBY LED (red) flashes as follows as warning according to the conditions in which the protection incident occurred.
(1) ASO/DC PROTECTION : Flashes in cycles of 0.5 seconds (0.25 seconds lit, 0.25 seconds off)
(2) THERMAL PROTECTION : Flashes in cycles of 2 seconds (1 second lit, 1 second off)

Idling Current adjustment
Required measurement equipment: DC Voltmeter
1. Preparation
(1) Avoid direct blow from an air conditioner or an electric fan, and adjust the unit at normal room temperature 15 °C > 30 °C (59 °F > 86 °F).
(2) Presetting
# POWER (Power source switch) OFF
# SPEAKER (Speaker terminal) No load (Do not connect speaker, dummy resistor, etc.)
2. Adjustment
(1) Remove top cover and set VR101 FL, FR, C, SL, SR, on Main Amp. Unit, VR401, VR402 on 2ch- Amp. Unit at fully counterclockwise position.
(2) Connect DC Voltmeter to test points (FRONT-Lch: TP101, FRONT-Rch: TP105, CENTER ch: TP103, SURROUND-Lch: TP102, SURROUND-Rch: TP104, SURROUND-BACK Lch: TP401, SURROUND-BACK Rch: TP402).
(3) Connect power cord to AC Line, and turn power switch "ON".
(4) Presetting.
MASTER VOLUME : "---" counterclockwise (c min.)
SPEAKER (Speaker terminal) : No load
(Do not connect speaker, dummy resistor, etc.) MODE : 7CH STEREO (5CH STEREO)
FUNCTION : CD
(5) Within 2 minutes after the power on, turn VR101 clockwise to adjust the TEST POINT voltage to 1.5 mV ± 0.5 mV DC.
(6) After 10 minutes from the preset above, turn VR101 to set the voltage to 2.0 mV ± 0.5 mV DC.
(7) Adjust the Variable Resistors of other channels in the same way.

Self-diagnostics
This function is For avoiding the rupture of
electrolytic capacitors with amplifier circuit failure during power-ON.
Operation of Self diagnostic
Self-diagnostic will start at the timing of next
power on, after goes to the protect mode by Current detection or DC voltage
detection.
Only On/Standby key could work in this mode.
Also remote control does not work.
However, the CLEAR operation is enabled.
During Self-diagnostic, the power supply for
amplifier circuit become low voltage state(SEC1-LOW), and the speaker relay will
be turned off. Then, MPU will check each amplifier circuits internally by
entering the test signal (20 kHz,-20 dBFS sine wave) to each channel from DSP.
MPU will judge the amplifier circuit is good or
not from VOLH value.
The normal range of VOLH value is 0.04 V <
VOLH < 0.20 V.
If VOLH value is in the out of this range, it
will be judged as NG (No good).
No problem found
When protected by current detection, and no
problem found, "CHECK SP WIRE“ will be displayed in this State, Only the
On/Standby key is effective. And it do not anything for 3 minutes, unit goes
into stand by automatically.
When protected by a DC voltage detection, and no
problem found, unit goes into normal operation.
Problem found
When judged as there is a problem on any
channel, the information of channel that has a problem will be displayed. In
this State, Only the On/Standby key is effective. Also remote control does not
work. if do not anything for 3 minutes, unit goes into standby automatically.
This state will keep also after unit turn on/off, or AC unplugged.
The power supply for the amplifier becomes low
voltage state and the speaker relay will be turned on.
Repair Process and How to Confirm
Confirmation of the protect cause
While NG channel is displayed, You can confirm
the protect cause by following the step below
1. Press the Enter button
2. The protection causes are displayed for 5
seconds.
Please check the around of those amplifier
circuit and repair it.
Clear of NG CH information
After repair, you can clear NG CH information by
following the steps below.
1. Press the On!Standby key while pressing the
Enter key.
2. Display as in the right figure appears.
3. Unit goes into Standby automatically after 5
seconds.
Self-diagnostic will start again at the timing
of next power on.
By this, You can verify whether repair was properly
or not.
If problem found after repair, please re-check
the around of its circuit.
Cancel of Self-diagnostic
You can cancel this mode by clear operation
(press Standby key while pressing CBL/SAT key)
After cancel this mode, receiver will be started
as normal operation.
How to check Firmware Version & Preparation
of Update
Step1 : [DISPLAY] + [ON/STANDBY] x 2
Main Firmware Version will appear on the main
unit’s display.

NET Firmware Version will appear on the main
unit’s display.

Preparation of Update
How to update (service mode)
Overwriting is also possible.
1.Turn on the unit. It takes some time to start
after you switch on the unit.
2.Select the USB input source.
3.Connect the USB storage device to USB port on
the unit. Wait until Initializing of USBINET finishes.
4.Hold down [DISPLAY] button and then press
[ONISTANDBY] button twice.
Main version will be displayed, and HYBRID
STANDBY indicator will start to flash.
5.Press [RETURN] button. “NET -> ALL_D"
will be displayed.
6.Select "USB -> ALL_D" by
[PRESET(left/right)] cursors and [TUNING(up/down)] cursors, then press [ENTER]
button, updating will begin.
7.Wait until update is completed. When the
update ends, "Completed!" is displayed (if you leave it, it
automatically turns standby mode. )
8.Press [ON/STANDBY] button, and the unit turns
on.
9.Check the new FW version number.
Note:If the procedure might not be successful,
please select "USB -> ALL_M”.

DISASSEMBLING PARTS
How to remove the Computer Battery
1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.
2. Turn the computer over.
3. Slide and hold the battery release latch.
4. Using the grip on the computer battery, push
the computer battery towards the computer and rotate it upwards.
5. Lift the computer battery out of the
computer.
How to remove the Coin-Cell
Battery
1. Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin.
2. Remove the computer battery
3. Open the display
4. Remove the palm rest assembly
5. Disconnect the coin-cell
battery cable from the connector on the system board.
6. The coin-cell battery is glued
to the system board. Using a plastic scribe pry the coin-cell battery out of
the system board.
How to remove the Bridge
Battery
1. Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin.
2. Remove the computer battery
3. Open the display
4. Remove the palm rest assembly
5. Disconnect the bridge battery
cable from the connector on the left daughter board.
6. The bridge battery is glued to
the base cover. Using a plastic scribe pry the bridge battery out of the base
cover.
How to remove the Display Assembly
1. Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin.
2. Remove the computer battery
3. Open the display
4. Remove the palm rest assembly
5. Remove the Bluetooth card
6. Remove the WLAN card
7. Make note of the antenna cable
routing and the tape placement.
8. Disconnect the following
cables from their corresponding connectors on the system board:
# display cable — lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
# left I/O board cable — lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
# battery power cable — pull the cable away from the connector
# AC adapter power cable — pull the cable away from the connector
# right I/O board cable — lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
# display cable — lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
# left I/O board cable — lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
# battery power cable — pull the cable away from the connector
# AC adapter power cable — pull the cable away from the connector

9. Remove the two screws that
secure the display assembly to the computer base.
10. Slide and lift the computer
base away from the display assembly.
How to remove the Solid State
Drive
1. Follow the instructions in

2. Remove the computer battery
3. Open the display
4. Remove the palm rest assembly
5. Remove the screw that secures
the solid state drive to the computer base.
6. Slide and lift the solid state
drive to disconnect it from the connector on the right daughter board.
How to remove the Keyboard
1. Follow the instructions in Before
You Begin.
2. Remove the computer battery
3. Open the display
4. Remove the palm rest assembly
5. Remove the four screws that
secure the keyboard to the computer base.
6. Ease the keyboard up using a
plastic scribe.
7. Carefully rotate the keyboard away
from the computer as indicated in the following illustration.

Controller
The
CoolSET F3(Jitter version) meets the requirements for Off-Line Battery Adapters
and low cost SMPS for the lower power range. By use of a BiCMOS technology a
wide VCC range up to 26V is provided. This covers the changes in the auxiliary
supply voltage if a CV/CC regulation is implemented on the secondary side.
Furthermore an Active Burst Mode is integrated to fulfill the lowest Standby
Power Requirements <100mW at no load and Vin = 270VAC. As during Active
Burst Mode the controller is always active there is an immediate response on
load jumps possible without any black out in the SMPS. In Active Burst Mode the
ripple of the output voltage can be reduced <1%. Furthermore Auto Restart
Mode is entered in case of Overtemperature, VCC Overvoltage, Output Open loop
or Overload and VCC Undervoltage. By means of the internal precise peak current
limitation, the dimension of the transformer and the secondary diode can be
lowered which leads to more cost efficiency.

Pin Functionality
Soft (Soft Start, Auto Restart & Frequency Jittering
Control)
The SoftS pin combines the function of Soft Start during Start Up and error detection for Auto Restart Mode. These functions are implemented and can be adjusted by means of an external capacitor at SoftS to ground. This capacitor also provides an adjustable blanking window for high load jumps, before the IC enters into Auto Restart Mode. Furthermore this pin is also used to control the period of frequency jittering during normal load.
FB (Feedback)
The information about the regulation is provided by the FB Pin to the internal Protection Unit and to the internal PWM-Comparator to control the duty cycle. The FBSignal controls in case of light load the Active Burst Mode of the controller.
CS (Current Sense)
The Current Sense pin senses the voltage developed on the series resistor inserted in the source of the integrated CoolMOS. If CS reaches the internal threshold of the Current Limit Comparator, the Driver output is immediately switched off. Furthermore the current information is provided for the PWMComparator to realize the Current Mode.
Drain (Drain of integrated CoolMOS)
Pin Drain is the connection to the Drain of the internal CoolMOS.
VCC (Power supply)
The VCC pin is the positive supply of the IC. The operating range is between 10.3V and 26V.
GND (Ground)
The GND pin is the ground of the controller.
